Monica Crandall:Chair
Monica Crandall : Chair

Monica and her husband, a 5th generation dairy farmer and a Pennfield graduate, Brad Crandall, have 3 kids who also attend Pennfield Schools: Zachary, Kylie and Isabel. She is a 1999 graduate of Siena Heights University with a Bachelors of Administration.  Monica has been an active member of the North Pennfield School Improvement Comm., District Advisory Committee (DAC), secretary for the PSEF, volunteers in the kids' schools and works as a literacy aide for 1st and 2nd grades at North Pennfield Elementary.  She also co-chairs the Mom & Son Date Night sponsored by the PSEF.  She is the farm accountant and her family are active members of St. Phil Church.

Steve Frisbie:Vice Chair

A member of the PSEF Board since 2007; Frisbie has served PSEF as a Trustee, two terms as the Chair and is currently the Vice Chair.  Steve and his wife Lorene have four children.  Megan Bonfiglio is a 2010 PHS graduate. Lindsey Bonfiglio is a 2012 PHS graduate. Jared Frisbie is a 2015 PHS class member and Daniel Frisbie is in the PHS class of 2017.

 A graduate of The Robert B. Miller College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management; the Colon, Michigan native has been a Pennfield Township resident since 1984.  Steve is a Paramedic who serves as the Director of Operations for LifeCare Ambulance Service where he has been employed for 30 years.  Additionally, Steve was elected as the 4th District (Pennfield, Bedford, and Convis Townships) Calhoun County Commissioner in 2010 and re-elected in 2012.  Frisbie has also been an adjunct faculty member at Kellogg Community College since 1989.

Steve is a long-time member of the Pennfield Exchange Club.  Frisbie was a member of the Pennfield Fire Department from 1984-1999.  He also has served as a Pennfield youth baseball and Rocket football coach.  Frisbie is also a member of the Pennfield Exchange Club and a Pennfield Rocket Football coach.

Shelley Sidnam:Treasurer

Shelley has lived in Pennfield her whole life, graduating from Pennfield High School.  She obtained a regular education and special education teaching degree from Michigan State University and her masters in education from Spring Arbor University. She married Jerry Sidnam, a Battle Creek Central grad, and had two incredible children, Bryce and Kendall, who are also Pennfield grads.  She taught third grade for thirteen years at Pennfield.  Currently, she is working for the Calhoun Intermediate School District as a Teacher Consultant for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students in the county.

Angie is a lifelong Battle Creek resident and has lived in Pennfield Township since 1985. Angie and her husband, Brad, have two children - Ashley and Courtney who both graduated from Pennfield. Angie has been employed by Pennfield Schools for nine years. She currently holds the position of Academic Support Coach for Pennfield Middle School. There she works with students to help them maintain a passing grades, assists with the After School Homework Help program, and also runs Saturday School for those who need extra help with academics.

Kelly Boles Chapman:Trustee

Kelly is the Senior Vice President for Community Leadership at the Battle Creek Community Foundation. A graduate of Pennfield High School, Michigan State University and Virginia Tech, Kelly and her husband, Rob, have two children in Pennfield Schools – MacKenzie and Reece. The family is also involved in their equine & beef farming operation.

Kelly is also on the Board of Directors at Southwest Regional Rehabilitation Center and the Cheff Therapeutic Riding Center.

Scott Hall:Trustee

Scott Hall has been serving as the principal at North Penn Elementary since 2011.  He came to Pennfield from the Marquette area, where he had spent five years as an elementary school principal in western Marquette County.  Prior to that Scott had spent 7 years teaching in the state of Colorado, where he obtained his school administration credentials and a Master's degree from the  University of North Colorado.  Scott is a Michigan native, having grown up in Marquette, and was happy to move back to the midwest in 2006.  After graduating from high school, Scott attended Western Michigan University where he received a Bachelor's degree in music education.  He also holds a Master's degree in music from Michigan State University. Scott's wife Kate is a school psychologist with the Calhoun Intermediate School District.  Their four children, Grace, Charlie, Julia and William attend the Pennfield Schools.

Jean Parker:Trustee

Jean has been a Pennfield resident since 1967. She retired from Pennfield Schools in 2007 where she held positions as an elementary classroom teacher in various grades, elementary principal at North Pennfield and Purdy Elementary Schools. She is a graduate of Otterbein College and Michigan State University. Her two daughters are Pennfield graduates.

Jean serves as chair of the Academic Boosters of PSEF. She is a tutor with the Binda Dyslexia Foundation, a member of P.E.O.; Chapter CA, a volunteer with the Early Childhood Connection through First Presbyterian Church where she is a member and involved in many activities.

Jill, a lifelong resident of Pennfield, is an Occupational Therapist for the Jackson County Intermediate School District. A graduate of Pennfield High School, Grand Valley State University and Western Michigan University, Jill and her husband, Eric, have two sons attending Pennfield Schools – Grant and Ryne. Jill is also an active member of the Pennfield Athletic Booster Club, Pennfield Boys Youth Basketball program and co-chair person of the annual Pennfield Arts & Craft Show.

Julie is a lifelong resident of Battle Creek.  She graduated from Harper Creek High School and Western Michigan University.  For the past 25 years, she has been teaching 3rd grade at Beadle Lake Elementary in Harper Creek. She and her husband Bill have two boys, Nick and Tim.  Nick is a sophomore at Pennfield High School and Tim is a 4th grader at Dunlap Elementary. Julie is currently co-chair of the Pennfield Arts
and Crafts Show.
